  • Turkey: Turkey declared a national day of mourning Sunday after twin blasts in Istanbul killed 38 people and wounded 155 others near a soccer stadium — the latest large-scale assault to traumatize a nation confronting an array of security threats.

The bombs Saturday night targeted police officers, killing 30 of them along with seven civilians and an unidentified person, Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told reporters Sunday. He said 13 people had been arrested in connection with the “terrorist attack.”Soylu spoke at funerals for five of the officers and vowed “revenge.”

Nonetheless, the government immediately imposed a broadcast ban on the Besiktas explosion. It is been said that “these news cause the public’s despondency”.

With the presidential dream of Tayyip Erdogan to become the  New Sultan of Turkey, everything started actually. First big explosion happened after he said he wanted to become president and for this (so for making this real, a bill needs to be passed from the parliament and to get approved it needs 400 deputies to vote for) “give 400 deputies to me and it will be solved peacefully.”

After last night explosion in Besiktas, pro-government media started to connect the explosion with the presidential vote package of Tayyip Erdogan. Actually, this constitutional amendment package consists of introducing a shift to a presidential system was submitted to Turkey’s parliament on Dec. 10 after the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) struck an agreement with the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) on the draft amendments.
And the pro-government media or pro-Tayyip politicians and people who reacted or injured during the explosion, they started to say, “the terrorists showed their reactions against  the presidential vote.”

This happened before the first election that took place the 7th of June in 2015 And before this election, on the 5th of June, two blasts ripped through a Kurdish rally (HDP) in Diyarbakir,Turkey by ISIS (Daesh), killing 5 people and injuring more than 100 in what President Tayyip Erdogan described as a “provocation” designed to undermine peace before Sunday’s parliamentary election. This,in a way, did cancel the upcoming election that took place the 7th of June as Erdogan didn’t win the majority he wanted and Turkey voted again the 1st of November same year.
