Israeli-Palestinian Conflict “Stop Everything! God does not exist

Daily headlines and front-page news coverage connects often Israeli and Palestinian actions in a particular way: Israel is usually depicted as reacting to Palestinian provocations.

 During the latest Israeli assault on Gaza during the summer of 2014, the news media emphasized in countless items that the Israeli military responded to rocket attacks by Hamas. As an example, the German press argued Israel would hesitate to “retaliate” to rocket fire from Gaza (FAZ.NET, 9 July 2014), had “retorted the attacks” (Bild.de, 10. Juli 2014), or “responds to rocket fire“ (SpiegelOnline, 11. Juli 2014).
Such usual framing of issues in the Israli-Palestinien conflict implied a cause (Hamas) and effect (violent confrontation) framework that promotes a particular solution such as Israeli military offensive actions to stop Hamas’s rockets.

Israeli forces attack Palestinian march protests held in in support of hunger-striking prisoners, injuries reported


Aljazeera and Wafa report that dozens of Palestinians have been injured during protests in various parts of the West Bank, occupied since 1967 by the Israeli army, and near the security barrier that seals off the Gaza Strip the 19th of May.

At least three Palestinians Friday were shot and injured with live bullets fired by Israeli forces toward Palestinians marching near contacts points to the east, south, and north of the Gaza Strip, in solidarity with hunger-striking Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, said sources. DECLARATION SUR LA QUESTION DE LA PALESTINE

Le Conseil de l’Internationale Socialiste (IS), réuni à Carthagène, Colombie, du 1er au 3 mars 2017, a mené des débats axés sur le thème “pour un monde de paix, dans l’égalité et la solidarité”. Ceci comprend la Question de la Palestine, qui est marquée cette année par des anniversaires, dont celui des 100 ans de la Déclaration de Balfour et celui des 50 ans de l’occupation de 1967, qui confirment l’urgente nécessité de parvenir à une paix juste et durable au Moyen-Orient.

Rappelant les déclaration précédentes de l’IS, en particulier celles des Conseils de l’IS à New York en juin 2010, à Istanbul en novembre 2013, en décembre 2014, en juillet 2015, et à Genève en juillet 2016.

L’IS Réaffirme son soutien à la solution à deux états, mettant fin à l’occupation israélienne et aboutissant à une paix juste et durable fondée sur le droit international.
