Toyota says it has the solution for unlimited clean energy Toyota is going to visit your toilets, literally  one of those days, scooping up human poop to create renewable hydrogen fuel to power its new electric car.

The use of human waste is expected to solve the motor giant’s ‘chicken or the egg’ problem, as described by Yoshikazu Tanaka, chief engineer of the Toyota’s hydrogen fuel cell car,the Mirai. According to Quartz, Hydrogen fuel cell cars could help solve the global warming crisis, but nobody wants to buy them : no one wants to purchase hydrogen cars because there are no hydrogen fuel stations, and nobody wants to build hydrogen fuel stations because there are no hydrogen cars.

Toyota says its bid to help the global warming crisis has not proven successful as nobody wants to buy a hydrogen car when there are no hydrogen fuel stations and no one wants to build a hydrogen fuel station when there are no hydrogen cars.

“It’s not a new or advanced technology,” says Marc Melaina, a senior engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Denver. “In India, they have loads of biogas plants in villages and such that are just part of their energy infrastructure.”

Using wastewater is arguably the greenest way to make hydrogen, especially for big cities, where there are a lot of people who produce a lot of sewage, and most of that sewage, after it’s been treated, is discarded. In the case of sewage sludge, it’s usually dumped in landfills, and in the case of biogas it’s most often burnt. In other words, there’s no downside to using it to produce hydrogen instead. “They have to treat the water, and biogas is a natural byproduct of that process,” Melaina says. “You can burn it, you can turn it into electricity or you can turn it into hydrogen.”

The automaker is now producing this faeces based fuel in a wastewater treatment plant in Fukuoka, Japan, according to Quartz.

The sewage is separated into solids and liquid. The solid waste is called sewage sludge. Microorganisms are then added to the mix  to break down the solid waste, creating biogas – about 60% methane and 40% carbon dioxide.

The CO₂ is filtered out and water vapor is added, creating hydrogen and more CO₂. Workers extract the remaining CO₂ resulting in just pure hydrogen.

2. Obama loves Palestine :Barack Obama tells Israel it ‘cannot permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land’

According to Reuters  and Jpost.Com ,the White House is disappointed in the lack of progress in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process during US President Barack Obama’s eight-year administration, said US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro on Thursday.

 

Barack Obama has told Israel it cannot permanently occupy and settle on Palestinian land in a speech to the United Nations.

The US president said both sides would benefit if Israel recognised it cannot permanently occupy the land and if Palestinians rejected incitement and recognised Israel’s legitimacy.

“Surely Israelis and Palestinians will be better off if Palestinians reject incitement and recognize the legitimacy of Israel,” he said on Tuesday.

“But Israel must recognise that it cannot permanently occupy and settle Palestinian land.”

Following his speech, the president will raise concerns about Israeli settlement activity in Arab lands during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York on Wednesday.

This last statement of the failed US president even for the Black people living in the United States, comes shortly after the recent $38 billion promised aid package to Israel, apportioned each year as $3.3 billion in Foreign Military Financing and $500 million in missile defense assistance over the course of 10 years, as an “unshakable commitment to Israel’s security.” which undeniably will renforce West Bank’s occupation and settlements which is promoted through some media.

BP, Total writing off oil assets in Libya because of the continuous conflict

Libya has become a major headache for European oil companies as a four-year conflict forced BP to join Total in writing off millions of dollars in investments in the North African country.

BP on Tuesday the 28th of July said it had taken an impairment of almost $600 million in the second quarter as fighting forced it to suspend an oil exploration campaign. The unexpected charge was the main reason BP’s earnings fell short of analysts’ estimates.

“There is significant uncertainty on when drilling operations might be able to proceed,” London-based BP said in a statement.

bp libya The charge comes three months after Total became the first European oil major to take an impairment in Libya, writing off $755 million from onshore assets. That’s an ominous sign for firms including Eni SpA and Repsol SA, which have yet to mark down the value of their assets in the country.

In February, gunmen stormed and briefly captured the Al-Mabruk field operated by Total. Eni, which reports first-quarter results on Thursday, has sustained output in Libya despite growing insecurity. Like the Italian company, Madrid-based Repsol hasn’t written down its assets in the country, although it has suffered from intermittent production outages. BP returned to Libya in 2007 after a more than 30-year hiatus, signing a deal with the country’s state-owned oil company to spend $900 million searching for oil and gas in a portion of the country the size of Belgium. The deal was part of the international rehabilitation of Libya after the Qaddafi regime gave up its program of weapons of mass destruction and paid compensation to the victims of terror attacks. Libya is producing less than 400,000 barrels a day as the conflict that has divided the North African country cuts electricity supply to oil fields and prevents maintenance. Before the revolution, Libya pumped about 1.6 million barrels a day.
